I crawl in bed with them to wake them up.
The warmth of their bodies is the same warmth I felt the first time I held them in my arms.
I was told when I was little that the soul leaves the body when we fall asleep.
I was taught that it goes to far away places and brings back treasures & secrets.
Then they sigh in their sleep,
A very deep sigh,
And their body quivers
And I know it’s back.
